Jacks or Better Match Times Pay
If you’re a fan of old style computer games with fat graphics and thick pixels, then Jacks or Better Video Poker is sure to appeal to you. Don’t let that fool you though – this is a game of wits that requires strategy, planning and fun to win.
Video Poker is a 5-card draw poker game where the only opponent is the house itself – rather than a more competitive game where you’re playing against other players. Jacks or Better Video Poker offers players both an easy format, as well as a fun and interesting game which offers several ways to win and puts at least some of the responsibility for winning on to the player – rather than you having to rely on plain luck. If you like games like Blackjack and European Roulette then there’s a good probability that you’ll like this.
How To Play
If you haven’t played video poker at all before, then at first the game might seem quite intimidating. Not to worry as the game is very easy to pick up, and if you play your cards right you could end up making yourself a huge win! As mentioned, it is not a competitive game, so there’s no need to bluff. The aim is very simple – you put down a singular bet at the start of the game, and you want to have a hand which contains at least a pair of jacks or higher.
Before all that though, you need to work out what you want to wager. This is very simple to do – simply click the BET UP and BET DOWN buttons at the bottom of the page. The minimum bet is £10 and the maximum is £1,000. Obviously a lower wager is safer, but a higher wager offers a much higher potential payout. When deciding a wager, go with how much you can spare and how confident you are of a win. Once you’ve set your bet, click DEAL. The computer will then deal you out 5 cards. Look at your hand, and if you see any which might be useful – such as a jack or two cards the same, then opt to HOLD them. The paytable in the top half of the screen will tell you which cards will be useful to you. Then click DRAW and any cards which you haven’t decided to hold will be kept. If you have any of the patterns specified on the table, then you will win cash!
You can play Jacks or Better Video Poker on your desktop or on any mobile or tablet devices which operate on iOS, Android or Windows, so no matter what you prefer, you can play the game wherever and whenever you want.
Return To Player
